The Romance Scam continues to thrive in Ivory Coast due to a combination of factors. First, the country has a high level of poverty and unemployment, which can drive individuals to engage in fraudulent activities as a means of survival. Additionally, the lack of effective law enforcement and regulation of online activities makes it easier for scammers to operate with impunity. Furthermore, the perception of the internet as a means of quick and easy wealth has led to an increase in the number of individuals willing to participate in fraudulent schemes. Lastly, the lack of awareness and education about online scams among the general population makes it easier for scammers to find and exploit victims. **

Many people fall for Ivory Coast romance scams because the scammers are skilled at creating fake online personas that are attractive and appealing to their targets. They often use stolen photos and create elaborate stories to gain the trust of their victims. Additionally, the scammers often exploit the emotional vulnerability of their targets, using tactics such as love bombing and creating a sense of urgency to manipulate them into sending money. Furthermore, the anonymity of the internet makes it easier for scammers to operate without fear of being caught, contributing to the prevalence of these scams. **
