Yes, you can paint a desk with boat varnish. Boat varnish is a durable and waterproof finish that is commonly used on boats but can also be used on furniture like desks. Make sure to properly prepare the desk by sanding it down and cleaning it before applying the varnish. Additionally, follow the manufacturer's instructions for application and drying times to ensure a smooth and long-lasting finish. **

The problems with the desk pad are that it is too small to comfortably fit a keyboard and mouse, causing them to hang off the edges. Additionally, the material of the desk pad is not very durable and tends to wear out quickly with regular use. Lastly, the surface of the desk pad is not very smooth, making it difficult for the mouse to glide smoothly, which can be frustrating during work or gaming sessions. **

The decision of whether the desk should have support or not depends on the specific use and design of the desk. If the desk is small and lightweight, it may not require additional support. However, for larger desks or those intended to hold heavy items, support is essential to ensure stability and prevent sagging or collapsing. Additionally, the style and aesthetic of the desk may also influence the decision, as some designs may benefit from the clean look of a floating desk without visible support. Ultimately, the choice should be based on the intended use, size, and design of the desk. **
